F E S T I V A L O F I D E A S
A lot of activity going on on the Bowery this weekend! The Festival of Ideas started yesterday with a series of conferences at Cooper Union, NYU and the New Museum focusing on urban improvement themes to better NYC. This Saturday, a street festival will take over the Bowery as small and independent organizations showcase model products and practices in "an unique outdoor space", which, from the renderings at least, looks like a long tunnel the snakes around the Bowery. In different locations encircling the Bowery area will be independent exhibits, performances and screenings. From 11am - 7pm.
If you like sleeping in on Saturdays, don't fret because the party continues. Organized by the New Museum and Nuit Blanche NY, FLASH:LIGHT is bringing art to the streets. Literally, on the block on Mulberry between Prince and Houston. There will be live performances and numerous other site-specific installations in St Patrick's Basillica at Mott and Prince, and large scale projections on the New Museum's facade on the Bowery. 8-11pm.
We'll see you there, friends! Don't be afraid to stop by the store & take a breather.
